El mundo del dragón: una fantasía hecha realidad
En el año 2005, el Discovery Channel, a través de su afiliada Animal Planet, produjo un documental titulado «El mundo del dragón: una fantasía hecha realidad» realizando de manera fantástica la recreación de lo que podría haber sido la extinción de esta supuesta especie. La producción es una conjunción de ficción, supuestos y leyendas, con una amplia descripción de posibles patrones de conducta animales de apareamiento, alimentación y comportamiento.
La fabulosa producción del Discovery Channel cuenta la historia de una mamá dragón que trata de sobrevivir para alimentar a su hijo.
Esta historia fue ambientada en Rumanía (donde la leyenda de los dragones era fuerte), en la Edad Media.
Explica que un grupo de estos animales que escupían fuego habrían podido vivir en la época de los dinosaurios, que escaparon a la aniquilación adaptándose a vivir en el agua y que más tarde se expandieron por todo el planeta, dominando selvas y conquistando montañas.
En la historia mostrada en este documental, los caballeros rumanos (vestidos con los atuendos típicos de la Edad Media) suben a la montaña y matan a la madre y a su cría, acabando así con la leyenda.
Como dato curioso en la India a pesar de tener una vasta y rica cultura de tiempos inmemoriales, no creen en dragones, pero sí en seres antropomorfos.
