Místicamente la Diosa fue conceptuada en la remota antigüedad como un gigantesco árbol cósmico, donde se unen todas las realidades. Tanto el pasado como el futuro, tanto el subconsciente como el supraconsciente, tanto la vida como la muerte, la materia y el espíritu.
La diosa como Árbol Cósmico es el Axis Mundi, el Eje del Mundo, en torno al que giran todas las realidades de espacio y tiempo.
Se la ha llamado también el Árbol de la Vida, ese que el dios patriarcal bíblico temía hallaran Adán y Eva después de haber probado el fruto del árbol del Bien y el Mal que les despertó a la primera estadía de la conciencia.
El Árbol Diosa era así la Madre del Universo, la Madre Árbol, que posteriormente se transformó en columna sagrada en torno a la cual se levantaron templos de piedra.
Ese Árbol Diosa era dador de todos los frutos de bienaventuranza: nutrición, conocimiento, conciencia, alquimia, eternidad ...
