Era el dios de los muertos, hijo de Cronos y de Rea y hermano de Zeus y Poseidón que se quedó con el mundo subterráneo tras vencer ,entre él y sus hermanos, a su padre. Se quedó con éste ya que por ser el hermano pequeño,le dejaron la peor parte. Allí vivía de forma feroz junto a Perséfone(después colocaré una foto). en la versión de Grecia se le describe como un dios muy maligno por ser el guardián del infierno. La versión romana de Hades, Plutón, era más bueno porque se le consideraba el dador de las riquezas del mundo.
El mundo de los muertos también recibe el nombre de Hades. Ese mundo estaba dividido en dos regiones:
*Erebo:los muertos entraban allí en el momento del fallecimiento
*Tártaro:era la región más profunda, famosa por ser donde quedaban las almas de asesinos,ladrones...Se consideraba y se veía como un lugar tétrico, oscuro y funesto. Estaba custodiado por Cerbero, el perro de tres cabezas y cola de dragón y que Hades pudo capturar. Había unos ríos para pasar al otro mundo donde había un anciano,Caronte,que era el barquero. Por eso antiguamente cuando moría alguien se le colocaban dos monedas en los ojos,para poder pasar con el barquero,ya que de lo contrario,su alma quedaría vagando de por vida. En algún lugar de todo ese tétrico mundo,se situaba el palacio del dios Hades, con muchas puertas, y lúgubres almas deambulantes. En los infiernos se juzgaba la actuación de los muertos y se decidía su destino: el Elíseo para las buenas almas y el Tártaro para las malvadas.
