Byakko es una palabra japonesa que significa Tigre Blanco. En la mitología japonesa se refiere a uno de los cuatros monstruos divinos que representan a los puntos cardinales. Byakko tiene la apariencia de un tigre blanco haciendo referencia al oeste y simboliza, también, el elemento rayo o aire. Si bien se dice que su rugido es capaz de llamar a la tempestad y que es capaz de provocar abrumadoras tormentas eléctricas
